III. The Lord’s Prayer “Thy” Petitions
The “Thy” petitions of the Lord’s Prayer are set forth here.
The words, “Hallowed be thy name,” above the hands uplifted in prayer is the petition that the name of God may be hallowed by us in pure doctrine, true faith and holy life.
“Thy Kingdom come” is the petition that the Kingdom of God may come into our hearts and continue to spread among all people.
The head of Jesus bowed in submission to death on the cross is the complete exemplification of the third petition, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
